What Have You Done with Hillary?

Well, Hillary went religious. The article has this quote, "The Clintons, on faith-based solutions, have always been way ahead of the curve." Umm, okay.
Some other quotes that I think could be made by this same space alien:
"I think George W. has always been pretty private when it comes to his faith."
"Ted Kennedy has always been for the return of prohibition."
"Ronald Regan was known for his almost photographic memory."
"Michael Jackson is the epitomy of the average American."
"No one loves the limelight more than Osama Bin Laden."

"we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators." -- Vice President Dick Cheney, March 16th, 2003 "Meet the Press"

Oh man, I found a couple of better ones... so many to choose from...

"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction. There is no doubt that he is amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us."

-- Vice President Dick Cheney, 26 Aug 2002

"It's a person who claims he has no weapons of mass destruction, in order to escape the dictums of the U.N. Security Council and the United Nations -- but he's got them. See, he'll lie. He'll deceive us. And he'll use them."

-- President George W Bush, 28 Oct 2002

I'm not trying, here anyway, to do any serious statement on politics.
If I were I'd state how every single world leader including Clinton and Gore made the exact same statements about Iraq at the one time or another. There's a difference between lying about your position for votes and just being stupid and mistaken over bad information. Politicians are politicians no matter what party, I'm find it hard to believe people actually defend either main party.
Besides I knew this blog would set you off, hehehehe. I was tempted to call it, "One for the Welcher."

I know that you weren't trying to make a serious statement, and I agree with you. Hillary is trying to make a shrewd policitcal move and I don't think for a second she is more "religious" than Bush. Not that I think Bush is genuinely devout by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm no rabid Clinton fan (Bill or Hill). I think what gets me bent out of shape are people quoting Rush or (shudder) O'Reilly without thinking for themselves and spewing garbage like "Die Liberals!" That just oversimplifies things way to much. Only some Liberals should die.

Meanwhile, here's "One for the Zimm":

"Iraq both poses a continuing threat to the national security of the United States and international peace and security in the Persian Gulf region and remains in material and unacceptable breach of its international obligations by, among other things, continuing to possess and develop a significant chemical and biological weapons capability, actively seeking a nuclear weapons capability, and supporting and harboring terrorist organizations."
-- Senator Hillary Clinton, 5 Feb 2003

(though I will add that if between the two of them you had to decide whether D.Cheney or H.Clinton was making these statemnts based on being "mistaken over bad information" and which one based on "lying about your position"... you might be able to guess how I think that works out)
