Hey, I'm using my blog for some work related stuff. I want to know what are your top 5 reasons for not going to church or, if you do go, what you think the most common reasons others don't go are.
I'm going to use some of this for the basis of a talk I'm doing in September.
So, give me your feedback... heathens.

for a while we were attending a church on the other side of the valley, but on some Sunday's it felt like it was like it was on the other side of the world, or that we were just to tired to go that week.
you asked 5 reasons I don't go to church?
#1. Hypocrisy
#2.Other things to do... like sleep or be 'romantic' with my woman.
#3. make me feel like crap
#4. I want an egg Mcmuffin
#5. Footgames are so much more exciting
'romantic???? I'd much rather have that egg Mcmuffin.
1. Sleep
2. Boring
3. Day off
4. Busy
5. Mcmuffin
I personally like the sausage mcmuffin with egg.
Has anyone ever had a Mcgriddle?
Big breakfast here.
I used to skip church because I found the worship leader obnoxious but then he moved to Colorado.
Apart from that the main reason I skip is to get extra sleep after a busy week.
I will usually fight to be in the church on Sunday, but if Sue diggs in her heels about going I feel wierd going without her. When I get to a point where I've overcommitted, I will shut down and that may even mean staying home from church. rare tho. I don't go tho if someone in the family is contageous. We don't share bugs and we appreciate those who stay home when sick. I hate a contageous 'faithful' saint. :-)
My biggest reason at this point is because i can't find a church I like. They all seem hypocritical and don't want to actually follow the Bible but some made up idea in their head about what is right and wrong.
Barry...We filmed this video in the 'burgh...but it might help you out. http://www.sermonspice.com/videos/13745/why-dont-people-go-to-church?
I'm pretty much what you would call an expert on what other people think, so I will try to help you out.
Top 6 reasons other people don't go to church (in no particular order):
* Some people don't think they will be missed / no big deal if they go or not
* For some people, it feels like a obligation, like having to "work" on their day off
* Some people feel like an outsider because they don't agree with every interpretation of the rest of the congregation
* Some people don't believe in God and feel it would be hypocritical to go to church "just for the community"
* Some people are unwilling to face the many ways they are being selfish or introverted or otherwise ignoring the plight of their fellow man
* Some people stay home to watch Jabberjaw reruns
