It seems as if global warming is over and thePolar Bears can rest easy. We had snow on Easter and none for Christmas and it's record colds all around the country including snow in Dallas and Tulsa! It seems Al Gore has been so effective we have actually reversed global warming too much!
Now, is there anyone out there who thinks that if we had had 70 degree temps in Michigan in December that we wouldn't have seen anything but global warming stories everywhere? So where are the stories of global cooling? The global science crowd is driven by annecdotal evidence. How much more annecdotal can you get than this last weeks weather?
Personally, I just think my science teacher was correct and the ice age predicited in the 80's is finally arriving. But, I have a solution.
Global cooling offsets.
Send me $10 for every degree lower than normal your temperature is and another $10 for every inch of snow you've had. In return you can keep driving your hybrid and I will drive my truck and extra 10 miles to do your part in keeping our climate from freezing. Please, do your part to save the Texas Prairie Dogs, because as you can see from the picture they are really in trouble. No really, that picture was taken in Dallas yesterday.
Shhh... don't tell anyone but it seems ALL scientist don't agree on on global warming? I thought it was a fact? Come on the sceintific community wouldn't lie would it?

Ha ha ha. Class bait and switch, time and again. Tell the people the opposite of what is real and confuse them. There will be a bigger fiasco to distract them down the line and they will forget how mislead they were. Instead of feeling outrage at the lies, the sheep will rage against the truth as they bleat and trot in step to the slaughterhouse.
Too bad it will take us a bit longer for us to realize how totally screwed we are by BushCo with this line:
"Global Warming isn't real."
Though even now this story is slowly morphing into:
"Global Warming is real, but it's no big deal. Nothing to worry about."
There came a time for each of the other realizations to sink in, and the realization that Global Climate Change is serious will sink in too. Might as well chuckle it up now. I sure am!

I'm with anonymous. I don't quite see the connection. Unless it's... "Never trust those in athourity. Verify things yourself as best you can." Or maybe, "Fear is always the fallback position when there is a lack of evidence."
I'm with that. I think both the Iraq situation and global warming junk are both simply using fear to gain power.
I heard it said, and I think it was a good point, any one who isn't a vegan, driving an electric car, and not using light bulbs doesn't really believe in human caused global warming. Because if someone like Al Gore truly believed the fear he's peddling he wouldn't live in the largest power consuming house in Tennessee among other things. If I truly believed life as we know it was about to end if we don't change our behavior drastically... I'd actually change my behavior. On the other hand I find someone's belief is not changing their behavior but is actually lining their pockets (look at how much some of these people get paid to speak and who is on the board of some of these carbon offset companies and the amount of money researchers are making) I'm not buying in.
The people making money off the global warming scare is almost directly like the people making money off the oil situation in Iraq. Those defining the problem have direct financial ties to making sure there is a problem. I'm not sure how one can buy into one situation and not the other or reject one situation and not the other?
Besides, at best, both sides are morphing into this position:
"Global Warming is real, but it's no big deal. Nothing to worry about."
And there's alot of researchers out there saying, "You can't know." Like we've dicussed before, "You can't know" is the one conclusion scientist can't tolerate even if it's the most logical answer.
Global Warming. It's been a nice joke for a while but it's running it's coarse and people are getting sick of hearing about it.
I'm not saying this guy is a Bush guy, but cut from the same cloth. He's an oil guyh. Google his name, he's been called a mouth piece for big oil. Still, that's Bush's line. It used to be "there is no Global warming", but now it's "well, maybe there is but it's not big deal".

Yeah, Zfly, save these blog posts and check back in another 10 years and see what the story is. Let's see how big the dead zones in the oceans have grown and how much mercury is in the fish and how many glaciers are left and how many parts of the world are suffering drought and by what percentage the output of our farms has changed. Because if we are causing irreversible harm to the ecosphere, let's be absolutely positive we are permanently destorying our habitat before we decide it's time to make any changes.

I'm saying in the same way every governement on earth could have looked at information and said, "Iraq has WMD's" and then finding they no longer did can be the exact same thing that happens with global warming, "The world is ending for global warming" and in 10 years it will have moved on. We alreday have evidence that can happen with the global ice age scare of the 70's and 80's. Canada was supposed to be a chunk of ice by now.
I just can't believe people trust policticians and big special interest groups on anything anymore.
And all your evidence is taken from a news median that has produced Katie Couric reading a commentary that was stolen verbatim, Richard Glass, and the infamous Dan Rather forged papers.

I just don’t get how someone as smart as James falls for all these emotional arguments that have so many holes in them that they make Swiss cheese look solid. He says that the Bush administration lied about WMD’s to get us to attack Iraq. If he would take even a little amount of time to actual think about that I don’t think he would make such a misinformed comment. To believe that is true you would have to also believe that 95% of the Democrats and 90% of the world were also lying in order to attack Iraq. He would have to believe the people who hate Bush the most (Kerry, Hilary Clinton, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, etc.) also wanted war with Iraq so they were willing to go to the house and senate floors and talk about how dangerous Iraq was as well and to convince people that they had WMD’s. He would have to believe that France, Germany, Russia, Britain, and countless other countries around the world wanted the US to attack Iraq too because they all publicly declared that Iraq had WMD’s as well. Although some of those countries didn’t want to address the issue and were against going to war with them they all believed they had WMD’s. So in order to believe what James does you would have to believe that the entire world who hates Bush wanted to support him in his attempt to take out Saddam and so they all decided to lie right along with the administration. Wow, that’s a pretty far stretch to believe. So how does someone so smart believe something that looks so wrong???
And if he makes decisions like that about the Iraq war, is it not possible he’s doing the same thing with global warming??? To believe in man made global warming which will destroy the earth you have to take another 10 step into insanity to actually believe it. How do you explain the temp in the 1100 -1400’s before the industrial revolution in which the temps were much higher than now??? How do you explain the end of the several ice ages that science says there have been???? How do you explain the same people claiming there was going to be global cooling in the 70’s and 80’s looking at the same information???? How do you explain that it’s been getting cooler since the peck in 1998???? How do you explain the warming on Mars right now??? Last I checked they weren’t driving cars on Mars.
For a guy who seems to put thought into most of his beliefs, I just don’t get how he’s checked his brain at the door for these two issues. It’s like you don’t even want to believe there might be information out there that directly contradicts your assumptions. And to believe your assumptions on both issues you are having to believe in a more complicated belief than what common sense would lead you to believe. Bush messed up just like the rest of the world or Iraq got the WMD’s out of country before the invasion. Global warming is just part of the natural cycles of the earth or the sun plays a major part in warming and cooling. I know that’s too simple but that’s where thinking naturally would take you.

Ha! The fact is you can only come up with a bunch of bitter comments which shows you are making your decision on an emotional level not an intellectual level. Before I waste my time with any more of the “man-made global warming” people I want them to answer my questions that have already accrued in history. I don’t want to here about their “what ifs” and possible models of how the world is going to end until they can explain away the fact of past global warming long before the industrial revolution. Oh and also, when did the temperature raising mean the end of the world? Would not good also come with the bad with worldwide warming. It seems to be argument of the “man made global warming” people that only if temps stay the same as they are today we will all survive. If it gets warmer were all going to die. If it gets colder were all going to die. When has the temperature every stayed at a consistent rate??? There are so many holes in this theory I can’t believe people actually fall for it. It’s just unbelievable.
