Spidey 3 Review

No need to write my own. I actually believe this review EXACTLY represents my thoughts. Who would have thunk?
Sorry been to busy to blog lately. Try to get back to regular soon.

What? This is all we get? Did they cancel American Idol or something? You have no thoughts on the last two episodes of Lost? No take on how badly the Pistons are beating the Bulls? No thoughts on Tony Blair's departure?

All we get is a link to a Spider-man review? The general point of which (they tried to cram too much into it) could have been said about any of the Spider-man movies?

come On!

Spidey-3 could have been much better, and I agree that the main problem was the script. I enjoyed it, but after the emotional depth of the second one, I was expecting much better. I don't think it was just that they crammed to much into it... they just didn't think about trying to make it make sense or what the motivations of the characters was... yeah that review was spot on.

All the "coincidences" aside (weird midnight particle testing in park sand pits... alien beings crashing into central park RIGHT NEXT to where spidey is hanging out, etc.) what bugged me most was that J. Jonah Jameson was still talking to Peter Parker. Didn't Peter steal his son's fiance at the end of the last movie? Jameson seems to have gotten over that pretty fast.
I'm no bigshot Hollywood writer, but even I see a way to remove some of those improbable coincidences. Wasn't J. Jonah's son an ASTRONAUT? Maybe he brought back some particle of alien-symbiote back with him from a shuttle mission... and maybe when he confronts Parker for destroying his wedding the symbiote recognizes a "better food source" or something. At least that ties in the last movie to this movie and removes a trillion-to-one odds against obvious plot device.

Bah.

But if I clear my mind of the plot issues... I like a lot of the movie. The special effects, awesome acting by Sandman and Goblin, Parker trying not to lose Aunt May's ring while getting his butt kicked, Bruce Campbell, etc.

Could've been better. It was enjoyable though. Not nearly as unforgivable as X-Men 3 or Superman Returns.
